How Advanced DNS Lookup Works

When you submit a domain, we perform multiple layers of DNS analysis. First, we query standard DNS records (A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, SOA, CNAME). Then we extract and analyze email authentication records (SPF from TXT, DMARC from _dmarc subdomain).

DKIM Discovery: Since DKIM selectors aren't standardized, we test common patterns (google, selector1, selector2, default, dkim, s1, s2, etc.) to find which DKIM keys are configured. This is why advanced lookup takes longer.

MX Analysis: For each MX record, we resolve the hostname to its IP addresses and use IP geolocation to determine where mail servers are physically located.
